Transport Facilities in Khopoli

This small industrial town is just about a distance of 85-90 kilo meters from the Mumbai city and is around 80 kilo meters from Pune city. The town has very well connected road network from all parts of Maharashtra and is even considered as a junction of many road routes within the state.
The Mumbai-Pune Highway or the NH 4 passes through this town which makes travel to this area easy. Khopoli also has its own railway station on the Central broad gauge line of the Mumbai Suburban Railways, which is at a distance of 114.24 kilo meters away from the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). Moreover with fast industrialisation, this town had witnessed rapid economic growth with more and more formation of high rises, gated communities, clean roads, proper garbage disposal system, school, colleges and hospitals.
For a weekend gateway to Khopoli just get your backpacks ready and hit the roads. The roads are wide and well maintained; you can expect to reach Khopoli from Mumbai city in an approximately 1.45 hours with few coffee and snacks breaks. But the best way to visit this town is by railways. Every day on an average local trains run between Mumbai CST and Khopoli for 7 times which starts from 4.16am in the morning to 9.54pm at night. The distance by rail is around 115 kilo meters and the fare for each person is as less as Rs 30/-.
Major tourist spots of Maharashtra like Khandala and Lonavala are at a very short distance of 12kms and 15kms respectively. Many state government buses run between these places. AC and non-AC Volvo buses are also present for people travelling to the town from the capital city. Many employees commute daily by bus between these places, to reach their job locations.

Tourists or people on official trip from various parts of India, can reach the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai or Pune International Airport and avail taxi service to Khopoli. The distance of Mumbai and Pune airport to this town are respectively about 85kms and 80kms. The travelling may take a maximum of 2.5 hours via Mumbai-Pune Expressway or Sion-Panvel Expressway.
